30th Anniversary at Hangar 107

| From July 5th to September 4th at Hangar 107 – Contemporary Art Center in Rouen / France.

This retrospective exhibition will trace the evolution of a graffiti artist who is both essential and has made history.

At the Hangar 107 we are honored to welcome Mirko Reisser, better known as DAIM, to celebrate his 30-year career. This retrospective exhibition will trace the evolution of a graffiti artist who is both essential and has made history, with his particular geometric and abstract approach to the letter, while being one of the pioneers of the 3D style.

Mirko Reisser will take up the reins at the Hangar 107 for two months. This will include a monumental mural painting, created for the occasion and that will synthesize 30 years of creation. It will be the reflection of his great skillfulness when it comes to letters and forms, that have influenced several generations of graffiti artists. Mirko Reisser’s pieces are to be found in museum collections, as well as in the Reinking Collection in Hamburg, some of which will be presented in Rouen.

Mirko Reisser’s works challenge our perception of the world and its limits, with their precise features and remarkable effects. By combining construction, deconstruction, complexity of forms and simplification of content, the artist plunge us at the same time into isolation, while sending an invitation to communicate, to withdraw ourselves from the world in order to come back better and stronger into it and decipher its mysteries.
