Kunst am Bau at Dr. Weigert

| New wall painting for the Chemische Fabrik Dr. Weigert in Hamburg-Rothenburgsort.

In February 2020, a new cooperation between Chemische Fabrik Dr. Weigert and Galerie Borchardt takes place in Hamburg-Rothenburgsort.

Mirko Reisser, who already created a huge artwork in the administration building of Dr. Weigert 10 years ago, is now creating “Letter Construct from Corner to Corner”: A 280 m² wall piece that extends from the atrium over several floors to the staff areas of the hygiene company.

In difference to many of his previous large-format works, the artist does not spray-paint his central motiv DAIM, but instead artistically explores the origins of his typographic forms. They invite the viewers to form their own impressions of the different perspectives in the building.

Galerie Borchardt has been realising Kunst am Bau projects for 24 years. In 2001, for example, the gallery developed the sculpture “Courante  – Vom Lauf der Dinge” at the Detlev Rohwedder House in Berlin in collaboration with the artist Robert Schad, as well as other works with artists such as Rolf Bergmeier, Helle Jetzig, Helge Leiberg, Frank Leske, Bodo Korsig, Trak Wendisch and Heiko Zahlmann.

With the current work by Reisser, Chemische Fabrik Dr. Weigert complements its in-house art collection, which is presented on several floors.
